So recently my laptop was acting up and the graphics processor(gpu) seemed to be reading false temps at 90 degrees C so it would underclock to prevent thermal overload. So I searched around and could find no one having this problem, did some further testing and thought my gpu had gone bad as it has been overclocked for over a year and regularly reaches above 80 degrees C. Then I remember remembered that bad thermal paste can cause temp issues; I opened it up to find the paste all over both the cpu and gpu, while not even on the chips themselves. After cleaning them, reapplying the paste putting it back together and running some benchmarks, all is back to normal.

Here's what it looked like:Img 20170330 182000367 by Pulchra-Ineritusthats just nasty!
